Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal. This precise treatment uses a tiny, sterile probe to deliver a controlled microcurrent to each hair follicle, rendering it unable to regrow hair. Electrolysis is safe for all skin tones and hair types - including blond, gray, red, and white hair that lasers cannot treat.

Electrolysis is perfect for brows, the chin, the upper lip, the bikini line, and small, stubborn areas where you want lasting results.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How does electrolysis work?

An electrolysis treatment involves the insertion of a sterile probe into the hair follicle opening down to the dermal papilla. The dermal papilla is the target for the electrologist. It is the part of the follicle that feeds the growing hair. If the papilla and the regenerative cells surrounding it are destroyed. the hair will die. Once the probe is in place a low-level electrical current is introduced that will destroy the papilla and surrounding cells and loosen the hair in the follicle. The hair is then removed. Electrolysis involves a series of treatments over a period of time. The length of time depends on the amount of hair, and many other factors. However once the dermal papilla had been eliminated, the hair is dead and will not regrow.

How many electrolysis treatments will I need?

You will need several appointments. The number of sessions needed to achieve permanent hair removal differs from person to person. Typically, you need an appointment every week or every other week. The appointments typically last for up to a year and a half but can be longer. Treatment length depends on several factors, including the body area and the type of hair growing there. If you're treating a larger area, or an area with coarse hair, you'll need more treatments.

What causes unwanted hair?

There are many contributors to the growth of excess hair. To name a few heredity, normal physiological changes, malfunctions of the endocrine system, medication, topical influences and stress. Regardless of the cause of your specific hair problem, electrolysis can safely and permanently eliminate it for you.

Why do I need so many electrolysis treatments?

Hairs have different growth cycles. Your hair follicle produces hair and discards it through shedding. This hair production cycle is a process of growth, rest, and replacement. Individual hairs are in different phases of this cycle. More than one treatment catches the hairs at the right point in the cycle to destroy them.
